The Space
The Merchant Room, which opened in spring 2004, is the latest edition to The Castlefield Rooms. In contrast to the Brindley Room it is a modern structure using roof glazing to maximise the feeling of space and light. The floor to ceiling windows complete the modern feel and allow unparalleled views over the Castlefield Basin.
This room is extremely versatile and has been successfully used for anything from product launches to private dining.
The new facility comprises 180 square metres and includes a private bar, separate entrance, PA system, air conditioning and full disabled access.  The space can accommodate all audio visual requirements.
The suggested capacity for this space is from 70 to 250 for reception drinks and from 50 to 150 for a banqueting event. It has also been designed to be used alongside The Brindley Room to provide a combined function space for up to 400 people.
